Clear Correct from Clermont Family Dentistry

Crooked, gapped, or otherwise misshapen teeth can do a lot of harm to your self-image and self-esteem. Though it’s common for younger children to get braces to straighten their smiles, adults often don’t want to go through the highly visible, stressful treatment to get a straight smile. The discomfort associated with traditional orthodontics for adults keeps many people from getting the smile of their dreams.

However, with Clear Correct aligners, the discomfort of traditional braces is no longer necessary. Clear Correct from Dr. Mundi Buechele of Clermont Family Dentistry & Dentures can give you the straight teeth you’ve always wanted without the stress of highly visible treatment. Give us a call today to see if this cosmetic option is right for you!

What Is Clear Correct? How Does It Work?

Clear Correct is similar to other popular clear aligner systems, such as Invisalign. It uses specialized, custom-made plastic aligners, which are similar to retainers or mouthguards, in order to gently shift the position of your teeth.

These aligners are made out of an advanced plastic that’s stain-resistant and durable, while remaining extremely thin. They are almost unnoticeable, allowing you to wear them at work, while going out, and during almost every other occasion.

Each set of aligners is worn for 20-22 hours per day, for about two weeks, then replaced with a new set. You’ll come in for an appointment with Dr. Buechele to track your progress about every 6 weeks.

Usually, patients will need between 20-24 sets of aligners, so the average treatment time is about a year. Note that this may vary, depending on the oral health and needs of each patient.

Who Can Be Treated With Clear Correct?

Clear Correct is usually the right choice for teenagers or older adults who only have minor orthodontic correction needs, and are not interested in metal braces.

To be treated, you must have a healthy mouth free of cavities, periodontal disease, and other such problems. You must also only have minor-to-moderate orthodontic needs. Clear Correct cannot be used to treat serious orthodontic issues, such as jaw malpositioning, or significant bite problems.

The Benefits Of Clear Correct

Wondering why you should choose Clear Correct over traditional braces? Here are just a few of the benefits.

  • Faster treatment – Braces usually have an average treatment time of around two years. Clear Correct usually only takes about a year to complete treatment.
  • Comfortable – Clear Correct uses gentle, even pressure to move your teeth. This makes them more comfortable than braces, which often cause discomfort, particularly after they are adjusted.
  • Removable for better oral hygiene – Clear Correct aligners, unlike braces, can be removed to brush and floss. This can help encourage better overall oral health, and reduce the risk of issues like cavities or teeth staining.
